Twisted Dune Golf Club
About
The golf course at the Twisted Dune Golf Club is a public, 18-hole course that is reminiscent of traditional Scottish courses. Located right on the Jersey Shore, Twisted Dune Golf Club is popular for it's beautiful views and challenging game. The deep ravines and grassy hills provide picturesque scenery and they also create interesting hazards for a good game.
Twisted Dune Golf Club lives up to his name with its twisting links-style layout, elevation changes, and rolling fairways. The golf course has par-5 holes that stretch over 500 yards as well as several par-4's and par-3's. The course also has wide fairways and large greens of bent grass.

Baked not burnt
Love this place. Only complaint is rocks in bunkers. I realize it wld be a fortune to redo bunkers but this woyld make it top 100 track in the country..
Difficult Course, But A Lot of Fun
This course was really challenging, I shot a 98 which is on par with how I usually play. I was concerned that I would run out of balls early on because the tall grass is difficult to find an errant shot in, but got through the round without an issue there.
Certainly not a beginner friendly course, but the conditions were beautiful and it was a lot of fun to play.
Great layout, rough shape
One of the best layouts in the area, but not in good shape. Tee boxes are completely gone and on one hole, had to pick three pebbles off the green. Not true at all with many weird hops.
Understand it’s a dune course more intended for carts, but there are things that could be done to make it a little more accessible for walkers.
Relatives playing with me on vacation and were given a set of rentals without wedges. A course of this reputation shouldn’t be giving out incomplete sets of rentals in the middle of the summer (and charging too much for them). Whether they like it or not, a lot of players down here are visiting from elsewhere and didn’t travel with clubs.
Potential to be a top-level course, but much harder to enjoy when the greens aren’t true. Would recommend to players looking to challenge themselves, but really hope it’s in better shape next time.
Twisted Dunes
Course lay out is excellent. Greens are a little rough. Tee boxes are in awful shape, but still playable. Staff was very friendly. Overall a very enjoyable round.
Good layout, could be better
This is a quality, challenging layout ideal for better players. If you're a high handicapper, make sure you play a tee box shorter than what you otherwise might. Unique variety of holes that are visually appealing. A good ball striker will thrive here, while a poor one will have a very frustrating day. There is very little space to miss if you aren't driving is straight. On most holes, anything off the fairway will find some kind of trouble, whether it be a bunker or super thick grass and native vegetation.
The conditions left a lot to be desired. I realize the course must get a lot of play, but the tee boxes were in rough shape and the greens were chewed up. A good speed, but quite bumpy and irregular in the consistency of the grass. Tons of unfilled divots in the fairways.
The weekend afternoon rate of $60 is a decent deal, but I wouldn't pay much more than $75 or $80 given the condition the course is currently in. If they can get the conditions back to a good level, this would be one of the better places to play in NJ.
Play it if you can!
Great course! A good challenge to all level of players.
Not worth the money
First if you happen to book threw golfnow be prepared to get basically looked down on. I called the course a few days to see what time the course brings in the carts. I was told 8:30pm. We booked a 4 pm round and when we checked in the unfriendly staff informed us that we better have the carts in by 8 pm. I said it gets dark at 8:30 and I was told a few days ago that it was 8:30 and she said "well things change". I feel the course was subpar. The carts paths are junk. If you have a bad back don't attempt to play. The holes basically run right next to each other so you have players playing threw from hole to hole. The bunkers had stones and I'm assuming we're waste bunkers but a few had rakes and most didn't. I will say the greens were nice. Pace of play was below average but it was a Friday night so I'll give that to them. I just feel the staff hates when you book threw golfnow and they basically make it known. I hated the cart paths. They were compressed sand.
